About
Pietro "Steel" Stiglio
Composer, Music Producer, Performer
He began playing instruments at the age of 9, performing and composing for various bands (Blues/Jazz/Rock/Metal) and producing for HipHop, RnB, and Pop artists. After studying classical music in high school, he graduated with honors in 2021 from the Scuola Civica di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan. This background helped him developing strong musical versatility.
Since 2023, he composed the original scores for three short films directed by Margherita Ferrari. The latest two were screened at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival, the Festa del Cinema di Roma, and the Berlin International Film Festival, and one ("FÖA") was nominated as finalists at the Student Academy Awards.
He also contributed to the soundtrack of the "Monterossi" (Amazon Prime Video) and has composed additional music for documentaries, commercials, and feature films (more details in “CREDITS”).
He's currently working on various short films and audiovisual projects.
In 2024, he reached the Top 10 in one of the world’s leading film scoring competitions, ScoreLive London. At the beginning of 2026, he achieved another Top 10 placement at the even more renowned Berlin International Film Scoring Contest, further confirming his international recognition in the field.
Following his success at ScoreLive London, he was selected to attend an exclusive masterclass in Valencia, where he had the privilege to have one of his tracks played and recorded by the National Spanish Orchestra in Madrid, receiving great feedbacks from the musicians and the director. He also worked closely with famous Hollywood composers and orchestrators, including Christopher Young (composer of Spider-Man 3), Pete Anthony (orchestrator for James Newton Howard and John Powell), and Garry Schyman (composer of BioShock and Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor), among others.
Later that year, he was personally invited by Christopher Young to stay at his home in Los Angeles, after making a strong impression during the masterclass.
During his two weeks in LA, Pietro was invited to visit the University of Southern California (USC) and Hollywood Scoring, the studio where the soundtracks for Pirates of the Caribbean and La La Land were recorded.
He also received highly positive feedback on his music from several of the most respected composers and orchestrators in the Hollywood industry.
